About GO! K-mommy

Hi, I’m GO! K-mommy 👋

I’m a Korean mom running a slightly ridiculous experiment on the internet.

Here’s the thing: I’m lazy. Not “I procrastinate sometimes” lazy — I mean certified ISFP, the-dishes-can-wait, let-me-just-watch-one-more-K-drama lazy.

But I noticed something weird. On days I exercise, my brain… turns on? Suddenly I’m organizing the kitchen, writing blog posts, planning lessons, and acting like a productive INFP version of myself. Then I skip the gym for two days and the dishes start stacking again. 🫠

So I’m documenting the whole thing. Publicly. With receipts.

What This Site Is About

Go Mommy Korea is where I write about three things:

🇰🇷 Korean language — I’m a certified Korean teacher, and I’ll show you how to actually learn Korean (especially from K-dramas, because that’s how most of you are trying to learn anyway, and there’s a smart way to do it).

🏠 Real life in Korea — Not the postcard version. The “why is there a pile of laundry on my couch and also a Michelin-worthy bowl of jjigae on the stove” version.

💪 The Activation Experiment — Can exercise really turn a lazy ISFP brain into a productive INFP one? I’m testing this for 6 months. You get to watch what happens to my home, my work, and my life.

Why I Started This

Honestly? I got tired of two things:

  1. Korean learning content that doesn’t match real Korean. So much of what’s out there teaches phrases nobody actually says, or skips the cultural context that makes Korean make sense.
  2. “Perfect mom” content on the internet. You know the type. Sunlit kitchens, color-coded planners, children eating quinoa voluntarily. That’s not my life. That’s probably not your life either.

So this is the opposite of that. Real Korean, real life, real mess — taught by someone who happens to know what she’s talking about and leaves dishes in the sink.

A Note Before You Scroll Away

If you’re a Korean learner who’s been told you need to “study hard” — you don’t. You need to study smart. And maybe also exercise. (Apparently.)

If you’re a tired mom looking for someone on the internet who isn’t pretending to have it together — welcome. Pull up a chair. The kettle’s on. The kitchen is a disaster. You’re going to fit in great.

Let’s go.
